You are bound to be surprised by the dynamic town of Montbéliard with its rich and varied heritage and history. You can't visit this industrial area without paying a visit to the Musée de l’Aventure Peugeot. This is not simply a museum but a place to learn about the legendary car manufacturer whilst having fun at the same time.
In a different register there is the Science Pavilion for all those interested in scientific and technical knowledge.
New: the Ile en mouvement will soon be open, a place to enjoy walking and various leisure activities as well as offering further discoveries to complement the visit to the Science Pavilion. It is sure to delight both local inhabitants and visitors to the town.
Culture is also present with the Museum of the Castle of the Dukes of Wurtemberg, which owes its name to the Counts of Montbéliard who ruled over the principality for centuries. It houses collections of natural and contemporary art.
But the best time to visit the place and wander around the streets must be December. You will find yourself transported back to your childhood beneath the Christmas Lights bathing the town in their sparkling colours. With its wooden chalets and Christmas market Montbéliard is the most wonderful place to celebrate Christmas in Franche-Comté, and a leading destination for families, as indeed is the rest of the region.
