Why not spend a day in Montbéliard in the footsteps of Heinrich Schikhardt wandering in the streets of our historical town centre (3km-urban trail) or have a try at the GPS Code or GPS safari: solving riddles is just fascinating!
Then walk in the footsteps of Georges Cuvier, the father of palaeontology who was born in Montbéliard in 1769, as you walk in the Près la Rose. Just nearby and conceived as an extension of the park, you will find l’Ile en Mouvement, a new scientific and play park centered around the perception of motion, set within nearly 50 acres of land, along the Rhine Rhone canal and the Eurovélo6 cycle path Nantes-Budapest.
Carry on to the Pavillon des Sciences where you will discover beautiful exhibitions and enjoy the additional information given by the enthusiast and competent staff.
While the parents have a drink outside, children can run and play in the park or climb the stegosaurus shape slide.
Treat yourself with a picnic break in the park by the Allan river or enjoy the sunbathed terrace of the Près la Rose restaurant! Montbéliard boasts 4 flowers in a national flower competition and this is a delight for the eyes…
Don’t miss the Château des Ducs de Wurtemberg castle and its historical tour, Cuvier gallery and scientific department, beaux-arts collections and temporary exhibitions. The same ticket is valid for the Beurnier Rossel museum, where you will enjoy the soft sound of music boxes made by L'Epée.
And last but not least, why don’t you visit the Regional Centre for Contemporary Arts (Centre Régional d’Art Contemporain)? Visit on your own or make the most of a guided tour to find out more about the past and future forms of art.
