Almost completely surrounded by forest, dominated by steep rocky cliffs, Bonlieu Lake is ideal for boat excursions or walks along its shores in the shade of the beech and fir trees. Its quiet and serene atmosphere is also perfect for fishing.
On its northern shore, lie the remains of Bonlieu Charterhouse, founded in 1170. On the southern side, a forest road leads to La Ronde viewpoint, from which there is a beautiful view over the Pic de l'Aigle, Ilay and Maclu lakes and, in the distance, Mont Rivel. Not to mention the beautiful view over Bonlieu lake itself.
